Austin is known for a lot of things, and one favorite of locals and visitors alike are the Austin-area lakes. According to an article in Community Impact Newspaper, Austin’s Lake Travis, was named number one in a report as the state of Texas’ biggest lake-based real estate market.
Interestingly, although Lake Travis is the biggest lake-based real estate market in Texas, it is not the most expensive. That honor goes to Lake Austin. In comparison, Lake Travis ranks as number five most expensive. Lake Austin comes in right behind Lake Travis as the number two biggest lake home market in Texas.
Nationally, Lake Travis ranks number four for the biggest lake markets in the U.S. Lake Austin ranks number two nationally for on the list of the most expensive homes in lake markets in the U.S.
